The Religion Killer
We really have to be careful, how we jump on every saying & movement that sounds good. Many of you have heard people say, “I want more of God, not religion”…
The definition of “Religion” is – Your body of beliefs
James 1 : 26-27
26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
-Notice the scripture doesn’t destroy the thought of religion but, it personifies its definition. So why are people so anxious to exclude religion from the life of followers and even more so, church. Here is the answer; if you get rid of religion, you get rid of Christ Jesus; who is the total embodiment of our beliefs. Though he had compassion on the sinner, he made the road to heaven a bit tighter with his body of rules and moral regulations.
Word play is the same thing Satan used in the garden. We preach the love of Christ as a popular topic, leaving out the very substance of the gospel which is repentance from sin. With the removal of religion; anything that sounds (judgmental/moral) is categorized as hate which creates a wide road to heaven. To put it plainly, there would be no such thing as sin. If we get rid of religion/Jesus, all roads lead to heaven.
